Moving day

In a little bit we'll be on a four hour ferry ride from Alonissos to a city called Volos on the mainland. Today's a rainy day but even still it's nice being here. We've had a wonderful month on this island and we're not happy to leave it but we'll have a fun night in Volos and  then take a bus ride to Thessaloniki on Wednesday for a month of Greek city living. It's vaguely like Greece's San Francisco if Athens is (also vaguely) like NYC? The island restaurants mostly shut down towards the end of September, so we've cooked most of our meals (though we're not complaining--the produce here is great including the fresh fish); in Thessaloniki we'll be eating out more for sure, but hopefully enjoying their market produce. Fewer swims for sure, though, which might be good since I think I strained my back doing the breaststroke. I've never swum as much as over the past month!

The olives even look great in the rain

Last day of great weather and lovely swimming (at Milia Beach)

Some of the incredibly fresh fish we've gotten from the local fish market (including the lovably named Boops Boops!)
