Meet the neighbors

There are some houses near us but it's rare to see people. The bulk of the neighbors are feathered and we hear them clucking and calling much of the day. I'm always curious to learn how different languages translate animal sounds into their alphabets. I think the Greeks do so much better at capturing the rooster sound. They say it's keekeeREEkoo.  How the heck did English get cockadoodledoo?  Too many syllables!  Where's  the 'doo?' You be the judge.  Here's the nearest rooster doing his thing...
