After a couple lovely days on Skopelos, we took the ferry over to Alonissos, our intended rest and relaxation base for the beginning of the trip. It's the third time we've taken the ferry over here and each time we enjoy great Aegean views, sounds, and smells.

In over 20 years of traveling, we've never check bags, but given the length of this big trip, we decided we needed to have one extra bag for clothes and other creature comforts (like a good skillet and knife since these are often woeful on rental places!). Unfortunately the bag took about 4 extra days to get to Greece, but thankfully the Skiathos airport folks managed to get it onto the same ferry we took to Alonissos. We're now at the house we are renting from our friends, Sergio and Zelinda; and we've feeling incredibly lucky to get to enjoy their lovely house and this lovely island (and to have all of our belongings again)!
