A little leavening

As many of our friends and family know, Sam's an avid baker. So much so that when we decided to go on this big trip, she  researched how best to travel with her starter culture. After this research, she dehydrated some starter and turned it into flakes; she then reconstituted over here. She's made several loaves and even managed to finagle some quality flour from the village baker (after getting some ok flour from the supermarket). Here's one of her loaves (with all natural leavening of course!). And the other photo shows her preparing a new batch of sourdough flakes for when we move on from here.
